RB High Principal to Resign at End of Year

Paul Robinson said he plans to leave at the end of the year to do other things.

Updated 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Rancho Bernardo High School Principal Paul Robinson is planning to resign at the end of this school year.

Robinson announced the decision to his staff on Monday.

The principal, who has led RB High since 2006, said the move is a "good thing," though he declined to elaborate to Patch on Tuesday about the exact reasons for the choice at this time.

Robinson had been with the Poway Unified School District almost continuously since 1984, beginning as an English teacher at Mount Carmel High School in Rancho Peñasquitos. He left to be an assistant principal at Poway High School in 1996, and moved from there in 1999 to be assistant principal at Rancho Bernardo High School.

In February 2004, Robinson resigned from RB High and went to Temecula, where he became principal of Chaparral High School. In July 2006, Robinson returned to Poway Unified as the head of RB High.
